The Maitland neighbourhood centre today celebrated Child Protection Week with a huge party including two jumping castles and a merry-go-round. There was face painting and indoor games for the littlies and every child received a “show bag” with sweets, balloons and activities to take home. About 180 guests turned out to enjoy the day – a little short of the expected 300 due to the cooler overcast day. Kiwanis were on hand to feed lunch of a sausage sandwich. Our expert team consisted of Tony, Warren and Rae; obviously we did a great job as many came back for seconds. We give thanks to the Salvation Army for the loan of their emergency services trailer which gives us the use of the large BBQ plate.
