The Kiwanis East Maitland was officially organized on the 21st of January 1980 thereby celebrating 33 continuous years of service to the Maitland Community.
Our club members are proud of their record of service and wish to share the joy of helping those who are in need. The East Maitland club members range in ages from 20's to 60's, and is a fun group with diverse interests.
We support fundraising for the Starlight Foundation, Red Cross, the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal and other charities. Kiwanis is also involved in local projects, such as assisting Riding For the Disabled build a Sensory Garden at their Raymond Terrace facility, HeartKids (a support group for families of children born with congenital heart disease), visiting local nursing homes on Mother's Day, hands on projects such as painting a women's refuge and playground equipment, donating equipment to Hunter River Community School to assist children with a disability to communitcate and a community family fun day held in conjunction with the local Landcare group. Fundraising activities vary - movie premiere - High Tea - collecting at the gates of Maitland Markets - BBQ's at Bunnings and Masters - are some of higer end income earners.
