The Kiwanis East Maitland was officially organized on the 21st of January 1980 thereby celebrating more than 40 continuous years of service to the Maitland Community.
Our club members are proud of their record of service and wish to share the joy of helping local children who are in need. The East Maitland club members are a welcoming group with diverse interests, committed to serving children and having fun whilst doing so. We meet on the first and third Monday of each month, at the Hunter River Hotel (upstairs function room). See the calendar for more information about upcoming meetings.
We currently support We Care Connect, Maitland Public School Band, Kids in the Kitchen and the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, and the Hunter River Community School, Millers Forest School and Stanford Merthyr Infants School with our Terrific Kids Program. Kiwanis is also involved in local projects, such as assisting Riding For the Disabled build a Sensory Garden at their Raymond Terrace facility, HeartKids (a support group for families of children born with congenital heart disease), and visiting local nursing homes on Mother's and Father's Days.
Fundraising activities vary - an annual Trivia Night, collecting parking fees at the gates of Maitland Markets, BBQ's at Bunnings, and set-up and support at Tocal Field Days are some of our higher end income earners.
